Plugable’s TBT3-UDZ was the pandemic Thunderbolt dock — loaded to the gills with ports and features, and impossible to get. Now it’s a tiny fraction of its original price for Black Friday.
At the time, our review of the TBT3-UDZ dock said it was “the best, most flexible Thunderbolt 3 dock you can buy,” with a MSRP well over $300. Today, some retailers still charge the $369 it originally cost. Amazon, however, has slashed the price of the TBT3-UDZ down to $159.96.
That’s twenty percent off of the “typical price” of $199.95 Amazon charges, which is already an amazing value. Plugable’s CEO told me earlier this year that the company has adjusted its supply chain, and the company seems to have adjusted pricing as a result.
Either way, you benefit. This dock includes a 10Gbps USB-C and a 10Gbps USB-A (USB 3.1) port, microSD and SD card slots (SD, SDHC, SDXC, or MMC) plus a headphone jack. On the rear, five USB-A (USB 3.0 ports) and gigabit ethernet complement a pair of DisplayPort 1.4 ports and HDMI 2.0 ports. Whatever display you have, this dock will accommodate, along with 96W of charging power.
It all boils down to this: The best Thunderbolt docks are on sale for Black Friday, offering killer Black Friday Thunderbolt dock deals that are just as compelling as this one. Supply chains are strong again, and retailers are clearing their shelves of older hardware. But Thunderbolt 3 hardware runs at the same speed as Thunderbolt 4, so you’re getting day-old bread that tastes as good as those Thanksgiving rolls. Grab it before it’s gone!
