The best Black Friday deal on a Thunderbolt dock is the Kensington SD5800T Thunderbolt 4/USB4 Dock, an ultra-premium laptop docking station that’s priced well under cheaper mainstream docks. With a greater than $100 discount, that brings it down to $187.
The Kensington SD5800T Thunderbolt 4/USB4 Dock deal at Amazon is the best value for the money out of all the Black Friday Thunderbolt dock deals I’ve seen. Not only am I the one who compiles our list of the best Thunderbolt docking stations, but I’ve personally tested the dock as part of my SD5800T review for PCWorld. My verdict is that the Kensington SD5800T is the best ultra-premium docking station — and right now it costs less than some other lesser-quality choices.

So, why should you buy this deal? I prefer docks with a multitude of ports, especially display ports. Docks whose display outputs don’t match your monitor inputs force you to buy adapters or dongles — not a huge deal, but it’s still more money out of your wallet. The SD5800T accommodates two 4K displays at 60Hz resolution (as a Thunderbolt 4 dock should) but it includes a choice of either HDMI or DisplayPort for either display.
Technically, this dock supports four displays through all four ports, though that’s only possible if you have the right laptop. Still, this dock doesn’t skimp, with plenty of USB-A and USB-C ports to go around as well as SD and microSD slots. It offers smartphone charging, too, through either the front-mounted USB-A port or the dedicated rear USB-C charging port. The dock can even be mounted vertically to save space on your desktop.
Thunderbolt docks come and go on my desk as I test them. But I can assure you that the SD5800T lingered far longer than most, just because it was a pleasure to use. Don’t miss this chance to grab this Kensington SD5800T dock for over $100 off on Amazon!
