LG’s C3 OLED is widely considered to be one of the best TVs around thanks to its drool-worthy picture and delightful features. As the deeply satisfied owner of one, I can attest that it’s a superb option for PC gamers. And for Black Friday, you can pick up the 55-inch model for just $1,296 at Amazon – a whopping 28 percent off its usual $1,799 price.
I bought mine at full price and it was worth every penny. At this price, it’s an insane deal.
Powered by a custom-made processor, the LG C3 OLED offers deep, inky blacks and luminous HDR visuals, a combination that creates simply wondrous contrast. (Watching Netflix’s “Fall of the House of Usher” on this will blow your mind!) The slim, almost bezel-less construction looks great on your wall or entertainment center while the TV’s smart features supports virtually all of the major streaming services you’d ever want to use.
But it’s the PC gaming-friendly features that lured me in and keep me smiling.
LG equipped the C3 with a blistering-fast 120Hz refresh rate while the OLED technology powering the panel keeps response times at a brisk 0.1 milliseconds. That’s noteworthy in and of itself. But it’s the addition of Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium that make this the ultimate television for PC gamers. Those adaptive sync features match the refresh rate of the panel with the frame rate your graphics card pumps out, making gaming sessions delightfully smooth and fully eradicating ugly screen tearing.
It’s amazing to game on, full stop. And since the LG C3 OLED includes four HDMI 2.1 ports, it can support similarly high refresh rates and adaptive sync features with the Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5.
The LG C3 OLED truly is a gamer’s dream on top of being one of the best televisions around. If you want an even bigger screen, the 65-inch model is 20 percent off at $1,596 (or less than the usual price of the 55-inch model!) for Black Friday. Alternatively, if you want to pick one up to use as a gorgeous plus-sized desk monitor, the 42-inch LG C3 OLED is $897, a steep 25 percent off its usual price.
